You know those annoying but addictive quizzes that are constantly cropping up in your Facebook feed?

Which natural disaster is your temper like?
What animal do you transform into?
           Who is your celebrity crush?
What kind of potato are you?!

I was horribly aggravated by these for a while. Some of my friends seem to do nothing all day but try to figure out which Disney hero they are destined to live happily ever after with. However, I took the plunge and went through one of the stupid things, and it turns out they can be strangely fun.

Don’t hate me.

For those of you who have also discovered the seductive pleasures of online personality quizzes, here are a few that tell you something about what kind of a Britophile you are.

How British Are You?

This quiz from BuzzFeed made me laugh! It draws from several well-known British stereotypes, but it pretty accurate.
My result: Probably American.

Which Member of the Royal Family Are You?

Now you can finally figure out if you’re more like Kate Middleton or Prince Harry. Because you’ve been wondering all this time….

My result: Prince Charles. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Which British Accent do You Have?

Of course I’m not British, but I faked an accent and took the quiz anyway.
My Result: Posh Totty. Is that a derogatory term?
What kind of tea is perfect for you? http://www.picturebritain.com/2014/11/britophile-quizzes.html

What Kind of Tea is Perfect For You?

This quiz was surprisingly accurate. It put a bunch of seemingly unrelated questions together to give me an answer that I’m quite happy with.

My Result: Earl Grey. Mmmm!

I've had a passion for everything British my entire life, despite being raised as a small-town girl in the American Midwest, After years of dreaming, I got the chance to live and work in England for an entire year. Now I write about my favorite country, and hopefully inspire my fellow Britophiles to get over there and experience it for themselves.

    I couldn’t resist it, I had to give it a go…

    1) As British as a Dalek serving afternoon tea
There aren’t many more British (or awkward) than you.
    2) Congrats, you are the Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom! You have a majestic presence that demands the attention of all you meet. You are a stickler for tradition, believing in the rules and protocol of those who’ve come before you. Although many might perceive you to be cold, you are an extremely responsible and capable figure, always ready to rise up to the occasion even in the face of tragedy.
    3) You speak normally! Most people talk in strange and unique ways that sometimes don’t even sound like the original language but not you! You are an Average Joe and you should be proud of it!
    4) Earl grey

I’m sure within the parameters of the test, it’s difficult to pinpoint everything and I’m not sure that I agree with the explanation of my results …
    2) “majestic presence that demands attention” haha.
    3) Most English speaking including rival dialects would argue that a regional northern English accent is not normal 🙂 I know it’s a fun thing but I think if I hailed from other parts of Britain particularly Wales, I would be annoyed by the issues that some other ethnic groups have to face.
    4) English Breakfast tea every time for me please. I tried the test twice with my second answer and no change. Was wondering what the other tea answers were.

Haha, thanks for those links. I am apparently “As British as Stephen Fry walking a corgi outside Buckingham Palace” 😀
